This policy explains how Asrar SAS uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) on the Playfair websites and application. It complements our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work the same way. Some are essential for a site to work; others help measure its use or the performance of advertising. The law requires your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary.
2. Your choice
When you first visit our public pages, a banner lets you:
- Accept all — strictly necessary, analytics and marketing cookies;
- Use necessary only — only what is required for the site to work;
- Choose preferences — switch analytics and marketing on or off individually.
Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the site works fully either way. Your choice is stored for 6 months, after which we ask again. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. We keep a record of each choice (an anonymous identifier, the categories chosen, the date, the policy version, your IP address and browser user agent) as evidence of consent.
3. Categories
Strictly necessary
These make the Service work: signing you in, keeping your session secure, protecting forms, remembering your cookie choice and your interface preferences. They cannot be switched off.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
playfair.session_token | Keeps you signed in (HTTP-only, secure) | 30 days |
playfair.session_data | Short-lived cache of your session to keep pages fast | 1 minute |
playfair.dont_remember | Remembers that you chose not to stay signed in | Session |
pf_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie choice and an anonymous consent identifier | 6 months |
playfair.ui (local storage) | Remembers interface preferences such as a collapsed sidebar | Until cleared |
theme (local storage) | Remembers light or dark theme | Until cleared |
Analytics
Help us understand, in aggregate, which pages and features are used so we can improve them. They are only set if you allow them, and never inside customer dashboards shared with third parties.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pf_analytics_id | Anonymous, first-party identifier for aggregated usage measurement | 13 months |
Marketing
Measure the effectiveness of our campaigns on other websites. They are only set on our public marketing pages, only with your consent, and never inside the application.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
pf_campaign | Remembers the campaign that brought you to our site | 90 days |
4. Third-party cookies
When you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies under its own policy. Embedded dashboards on other websites only use the strictly necessary storage required to display them.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
6. Changes and contact
We update this policy when we change the cookies we use. Questions: privacy@asrar.example.
